This experimental work was used to address the question: How can I exploit the mood or genre of a level through lighting? Through this practical study I have used the game engine: Unreal Engine 4 to create realistic and various light environments. Using a simplistic level which I designed to take advantage of different lighting techniques, colours of light and different trajectories of light, will greatly impact the overall feel of the environment.
Using different lighting angles and colours I have been able to evoke a range of different emotions and genres. Through images of this single level you can clearly see the difference and the contrasts all contained and displayed within this space.
